We are Hans and Jolanda van Ginkel, together for 38 years and still happy. We met in a nightclub in Veenendaal, and have been inseparable ever since. We have two daughters who still live in the Netherlands.

Ever since he was 18, Hans dreamed of moving abroad, but when he met Jolanda, plans changed. She wasn't ready to live abroad yet, so we first spent years building a wonderful life in the Netherlands with our daughters, family, and friends.

In early 2023, Jolanda also indicated that she was ready to move to Spain. The Spanish dream became a reality! Within a short time, a ticket was booked and our adventure began.

We got in touch with Ruud through a Facebook group, who told us more about the area and the emigration process. During our first meeting on a terrace (as is customary in Spain 😉), we immediately felt welcome. In 2023, we visited the region around Torrevieja several times and—after having explored the area extensively—it was clear. Orihuela Costa became our new home base. We emigrated at the end of March 2024.

Jolanda continued running her nail salon in Spain, and Hans also kept doing what he did in the Netherlands: designing and installing bathrooms. However, lugging tiles and cement around was becoming increasingly heavy, and an entrepreneur always looks ahead… We saw an opportunity in the market, and that is how the idea to start an e-bike rental business was born. After all, the beautiful surroundings where we live are the perfect way to explore by bike! We decided to contact suppliers in the Netherlands. After a few phone calls and emails, we received an unexpected tip from our website builder. He was able to put us in touch with a Dutch bicycle manufacturer. This turned out to be a golden move. Through him, we got in touch with the director of Dutch ID, exactly the brand of e-bikes we were looking for. After a very pleasant conversation with Michael, the director of Dutch ID, we quickly decided to order 30 e-bikes. Our business had officially started! Although the price of these e-bikes is slightly higher, we knew that quality and reliable service are essential for both our customers and ourselves.
